Return to Mistletoe Mountain with USA Today bestselling author Melissa F. Miller in a new holiday rom-com mystery about a holiday-hating attorney and a big-hearted, book-loving client intent on bringing her some holiday cheer!

Excuse Holly Jolly, Esquire, for not feeling very, well, jolly. She’s been down on Christmas for months—ever since she found her fiancé (make that ex-fiancé) making out with his boss in the closet at the District Attorney’s Office Christmas in July party.

While she’s not interested in love or Christmas magic, it’s hard to avoid the season when you live in Mistletoe Mountain. She plans to spend the holidays with her TBR pile, despite what her best friend and her family have to say about it.

Her plans derail like a Christmas train careering off the track when she’s appointed to defend a bearded blue-eyed stranger whose dangerous crime is … placing banned books in little free libraries? The case should be dismissed outright. But of course her politically ambitious ex is the prosecutor, and he digs in his heels.

The judge gives Holly a choice: take responsibility for the defendant or let him spend the holidays in the county lockup. Now, she’s stuck in the one-bedroom guest house at her family’s inn with a kind-hearted criminal who loves Christmas. And books. And who brings her hot chocolate in bed and rubs her tired feet with peppermint oil. Bah, humbug.

Jack Bell embraces everything life throws at him. But he’s not sure what to make of Mistletoe Mountain—or the cranky but adorable spitfire appointed to represent him in a criminal case that has to be a joke. His motto is roll with it. So he’s determined to make the best of his guest house arrest.

When the case goes viral, the prosecutor doubles down on getting a conviction, and Jack worries his secrets will be exposed. Holly works feverishly to defend him in the middle of a media storm, and he sets out to remind her of the true meaning of Christmas by dragging her to the town tree lighting, the gingerbread house-building contest, and every festive event in between. It’ll take a Christmas miracle to win Jack’s case and melt Holly’s icy heart.

This heartwarming holiday rom-com mystery features a closed-door, sunshine-grump romance where he falls first and is loaded with crackling chemistry, gripping suspense, and small-town shenanigans. The second book in the Mistletoe Mountain series, Booked for Christmas can be read as a standalone.

Delightful read

Booked For Christmas A Mistletoe Mountain Novel

How about a Christmas rom-com? Booked For Christmas has you covered with this entertaining novel. This is the second Mistletoe Mountain book and focuses on Holly Jolly (yes, that is the character’s name). Holly is one of Nick Jolly’s daughters who practices law in Mistletoe Mountain. The romance is the backdrop to a timely debate on book banning. The characters are interesting and dialogue rings believable even if the legal intrigue is a bit implausible. Hey, its fiction, right? This book will put you in the holiday spirit.

A Sweet Jolly Family Tale!

One of my fav authors has released Booked For Christmas, the 2nd book in her Mistletoe Mountain series. This feel-good, heart felt, holiday, Jolly family tale is a perfect one to enjoy on a long cold afternoon with a Christmas blanket and a cup of tea (or gingerbread latte with candy cane foam!!). With the release of both series installments, the author created and includes a suggested music play list, both of which I found to be the perfect reading companion (and new variations of familiar tunes!!) Thank you, Ms Miller and Merry Christmas

Booked for Christmas

What a fantastic book!! You will love reading this book. You will get a lot of laughs as you read about the situation Holly finds herself in after representing new client, Jack, who meet in a most embarrassing way.

You’ll enjoy the wonderful walks through the wonderfully described town at Christmas. And, of course, a perfect ending.

Booked for Christmas: A Unique Storyline

I loved the first Mistletoe Moutain book and this one was better. The tie in with the book banning movement made this an excellent story and very believable. Plus the romance was believable and different (no spoilers...) but I enjoyed how it played out, very unique and mature. It was nice to see how people can fight these groups. I also liked how reasons why the books discussed need to be read versus the limited viewpoint of the book banners. Read the book, you will enjoy it and who knows...maybe it will change a few minds. Can't wait for the next one in this series!

Loved this perfect Christmas story, great for anytime of the year!

Booked for Christmas continues the joy of the season on Mistletoe Mountain with the Jolly family. Centered around Holly, this story captured my heart from the beginning. It's easy to physically feel the raw emotions pouring from author Melissa immediately as she describes Holly loving Christmas, just not this Christmas and then a scene of her screaming with emotion in her car. This may capture and describe relatable feelings for others. In the next chapter, I literally laughed out loud as Holly introduced herself, H. Evelyn Jolly. Because Holly Jolly? And of course my new swear phrase… son of a Blitzen. Melissa weaves humor so easily into the story.
Attorney (Holly) Evelyn Jolly is assigned to defend Jack Bell for putting books in a little free library. Yes, the world we live in is an interesting place. And since ‘tis the season, the inn is full, and this is Mistletoe Mountain, Jack is remanded to Holly's custody until trial.
Who is Jack? Why was he really arrested? What's the real reason Mrs. Swanson was upset about the books Jack put in her little free library?
I love the traditions of Mistletoe Mountain, the year-round Christmas celebration, the feeling of family. But the realistic and relatable feelings she pours into her stories, especially Booked for Christmas, the raw emotions of loss are felt to the soul. But the continued lighthearted holiday cheer, warmth of family and friends, and of course laughter are the perfect balance on Mistletoe Mountain.
I always enjoy the culture and history of the characters as well as their life choices and careers. Pedro's painting, What Remains Beautiful led me on a new journey of knowledge…Wabi-Sabi.
Booked for Christmas shares some heartache, and uncertainties of life, but so much love, joy, and happiness wrapped up like a gift on Mistletoe Mountain, a perfect place to reflect on life's choices, with the Jolly family and all their friends!
